The new nbn™ Broadband network is replacing the traditional copper network in Australia to provide fast Internet to every Australian. Currently (2015) the nbn™ is being rolled out using a mixed technology format. This means that the Internet is delivered using a variety of methods. These include:
- FTTP – Fibre to the premises
- FTTN – Fibre to the node (initial FTTN sites planned for late 2015).
- FTTB – Fibre to the basement
- HFC – Hybrid fibre coaxial
- Fixed wireless
- Satellite
